Phytoplankton species composition, abundance and distribution in Fishing area 58 of Indian Ocean sector of Southern Ocean

چکیده
Phytoplankton species composition, abundance and standing stocks investigations were carried out during the First Indian Antarctic Krill Expedition (FIKEX). Nitrate, phosphate and silicate were available in sufficiently higher concentrations at Polar Front zone. Nitrate and silicate, exhibited a marked boundaries between high values in the Sub Antarctic region. Diatom dominated the phytoplankton in the study region and their numbers generally increases southward with peaks of abundance in Sub Antarctic waters. Dinoflagellates, flagellates and “monads” occur in highest concentration north of the Polar Front zone. Various diatom assemblages are characteristics of different latitudinal zones. Vicinity of the Polar Front was found to be rich in Nitzschia, Pseudonitzschia group of species. South of Polar Front Nitzschia “nana” (Cells of both N. cylindrus and N. pseudonana) and Dactyliosolen tenuijunctus dominate. Diatoms viz. Fragilariopsis kerguelensis and Thalassionema nitzschioides ; were reported earlier and present studies. Present study laso reveals that the diatom Pseudonitzschia spp. were numerous in numbers.

Distribution Modeling of Bigeye Tuna (Thunnus obesus Lowe, 1839), Using Satellite Derived Environmental Variables in Indian Ocean
Understanding effects of environment on the distribution of economic fish is a fundamental step in the ecosystem-based management and ultimately a standard approach in management policies. Bigeye tuna (Thunnus obesus) is one of the most important aquatic species harvested in the Indian Ocean. The present study investigated the association of different variables effecting the rate of catch and d...

Seasonal distribution of species composition, cell abundance and biomass of phytoplankton of the Caspian Sea were investigated in 2005. This survey were fulfilled in 6 transects and 26 stations A total of 260 samples were collected during winter to autumn in the southern part of Caspian Sea. Totally, 163 species of phytoplankton were identified (71 species Bacillariophyta, 31 species Chlorophy...

Shark stocks in Iranian water of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman are declining sharply. Although fishing and heavy fines have been banned by the organizations in charge of fishing for these fish, bycatch in some fishing methods, including Neritic and oceanic Gillnet, trawl fish and shrimp, long loine and trolling, still catch sharks. Slowly In this study, during a period of 10 years from 2010...
